While everyone was doing a 12 days before Christmas event we figured it would be good to spread some holiday cheer after the big Day! We will be launching our XXXtravaganza on December 26 for your chance to score some great fishing related sh'tuff. Since it's the gift giving season, we thought we'd showcase some of the products we think would make great stocking stuffers. No this isn't an Animal House plug...we actually mean BOGA!! BOGA!! BOGA!! This is the chant heard when one of the guys has a hog on the line and we need to land it. Anglers traditionally think of using a boga on the salty toothy variety of fish. Our crew along with a few Northern anglers have found that the boga is a great tool for reviving and releasing your catch with minimal contact and stress to the fish. Check them out if you haven't. At our last team building outing (beer, fishing, driftboat, food on the grill) we were discussing the cool gear we've come across in the 8 years of running our dirty little fishing site...overwhelmingly, NorVise came up as one of the coolest products we've put to use. The vise alone is amazing, but don't overlook the accessories. The bobbin system with it's self retrieving/rewinding mechanism will put your old manual style bobbin to shame and have you jamming it in the back of your fly tying tools. We are eyeing the new magnifier light too although we have yet to test one of them out. With a dozen or more attachments and accessories, the Norvise family of products has allowed us to tie faster with more control and precision than any other vise we've tried.
